About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Employee Relations Officer to join our Human Resources Department at the Ramu Agri Industries Office in Lae.

In this role, you will support the Employee Relations Executive by handling disciplinary matters, resolving employee disputes, and ensuring fair processes in line with company policy and PNG labour law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in resolving workforce grievances and attending dispute resolution meetings

  • Investigate alleged policy breaches and recommend appropriate disciplinary action

  • Liaise with managers, investigators, and union representatives to ensure procedural fairness

  • Prepare formal documents such as termination letters, suspension notices, and resignation acknowledgments

  • Conduct employee inductions and policy awareness sessions

  • Manage employee exits, including property clearances and coordination with housing

  • Represent the company in engagements with the Union, Provincial Labour Office, and National Department of Labour

  • Promote and uphold the company’s Code of Conduct, Executive Staff Handbook, and General Policies

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar HR/ER role (preferably in a unionised environment)

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven ability to analyse data and produce clear, actionable reports

  • Open-minded, team-oriented, and adaptable to diverse workplace settings
